If you are looking for an SEO copywriter to help you optimise your site’s text make sure you choose a good one. Here are some tips to remember.
- Ask for writing samples and the list of terms each sample targets - Remember that simply being a good writer does NOT cut it. Even if the text is well-written, if it does contain enough keywords or does not highlight the needed terms, then look for a better SEO copywriter. In the same way, do not settle for an SEO copywriter that is able to stuff enough keywords in the sample text but has a bland writing style. You want to hire an SEO copywriter that will not only help drive traffic to your site but one that will ensure that the visitors will actually enjoy what they read.
- Check their experience - Ask them about their experience. How long have they been doing SEO copywriting? What kind of related training have they received? If the writer is an experienced writer but has very little experience with SEO copywriting go back to number 1 and remember that simply being a good writer does NOT cut it. However, in my opinion, not just because someone is relatively new at SEO copywriting means that the service will be horrible. I put more weight on the samples.
- Ask for references - This is important not only because you want to get a good look at the websites they’ve done but because you want to know their level of professionalism. Find out how well they are at meeting deadlines and how quick they reply to emails.
